Usher’s current single “Good Good” is No. 1 for a second consecutive week on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
The R&B megastar’s collaboration, which features Summer Walker and 21 Savage, ties with his previous hit, “GLU,” which spent two straight weeks atop earlier this year.
Usher upped his No. 1 Adult R&B count to eight chart-toppers with the rise of “Good Good” in the week of Nov. 18. It displaced rising soul singer J. Brown’s “My Whole Heart,” which had a three-week run.
“Good Good” makes Usher the only artist besides Alicia Keys to have two No. 1 titles on the Adult R&B Airplay chart in 2023.
The same feat also applies to R&B radio, where the Mel & Mus-produced track remains in the lead for another week, even after a 2.6 % decrease in spins.
Earlier this month, “Good Good” became the only song to capture the No. 1 spot across R&B, urban, and rhythmic radio formats this year.
Elsewhere on Billboard, Usher is still going strong with “Good Good” after topping R&B Digital Song Sales, R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, and Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts this fall. It’s No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
“Good Good” has tallied 21 million streams on Spotify since its Aug. 4 release.
Following the single’s digital drop, Usher revealed his ninth studio album’s title and release date.
Coming Home arrives on Feb. 9, 2024, via mega/gamma. It follows his 2016 album, Hard II Love, released on RCA Records.
“We’ve put a lot of thought and creativity into this new album to tell a story that is open to interpretation and that will connect with people in different ways,” said Usher. “I know this has been a long time coming for my fans and what I’ll say is that all good things come to those who wait. I hope you enjoy it once you hear it.”
On Feb. 11, 2024, Usher will headline Apple Music’s Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. His performance trails after the release of Coming Home.
In recent news, Usher is featured on “Transparency,” a song lifted from 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne’s joint project, Welcome to Collegrove, out now.
Usher is among the top nominees at the 2023 Soul Train Awards, airing Sunday, Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. ET on BET and BET Her. He lands nine nods, along with SZA and Summer Walker.
