Usher is gearing up for an eventual 2024.
The R&B icon will headline Apple Music’s Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show on Feb. 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” Usher shared in a statement. “Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”
Usher is the second Super Bowl headliner announced since Apple Music partnered with the NFL. This year, Rihanna headlined.
Fans and viewers have more to look forward to besides his performance — he is also releasing his long-awaited ninth album. It will follow his 2016 album, Hard II Love, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart. It also topped Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart.
Singles included “No Limit” featuring Young Thug and “Missin U.” The first of the pair reached No. 1 on urban radio and Billboard, while the latter was a top 10 hit.
Usher’s upcoming album also will be his first project of new material since 2018. The last release was A, a surprise EP he recorded with producer Zaytoven, which was released to celebrate his 40th birthday.

Usher revealed his ninth album is titled Coming Home. Initially, it was rumored to be titled Confessions 2, but he later confirmed in an interview that the idea was canceled. Usher announced the official title on the same day he was announced as the Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show headliner.

In an interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music, Usher explained that Coming Home is “a love letter once again to the legacy of my career.”
He continued, “I’ve been coming home in a lot of different ways. The choice of music and reconnection to some of the people that I’ve worked with from my past. And I always wanted to work with writers that I’ve actually made hit number one records with. In a sense, I’m coming home because I’m in that comfortable space. When you’re at home, you’re comfortable. When you’re at home, you feel connected, elevate, rise and inspire.”
When is the release date for Usher’s album Coming Home?
Usher’s ninth album, Coming Home will now release Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, just two days ahead of his performance at Apple Music’s Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show. Initially, the album was planned to release on Feb. 11, 2024, but the release date got changed in mid-December.

Usher’s album is available for pre-order in different formats such as standard CD, digital album, and vinyl, on his official online store and various online retailers. Coming Home was initially available for pre-save exclusively on Apple Music.
Which label will release Usher’s Coming Home album?
Usher’s new album will be released under his mega imprint with L.A. Reid, in partnership with Larry Jackson’s gamma company. This will be his first independently released album.
Coming Home also marks the reunion of Usher and Reid, who executive produced Usher’s 2004 album, Confessions. The 20th anniversary of the diamond-certified album will be celebrated in 2024.
What is the lead single for Coming Home?
“Good Good” is the confirmed official first single from the album. The song, released Aug. 4, features Summer Walker and 21 Savage. It was produced by Mel & Mus. Each artist and song’s producers, including Nija Charles, have a co-songwriting credit. Charles was among the inaugural Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical nominees for the 2023 Grammys.
On Aug. 23, Usher unveiled the official video for “Good Good.” Shortly before the video drop, the song debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart. It reached No. 1 on urban radio and advanced atop Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.
“Good Good” reached No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart the week dated for Oct. 14, 2023. It marked Usher’s first top 30 entry since his Juicy J-assisted “I Don’t Mind” in 2015, which peaked at No. 11.
In the week of Nov 18, Usher achieved his eighth No. 1 hit on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart with the song “Good Good.” It has held this position for a total of five weeks, although not consecutively. The only song to stay at the top position longer than “Good Good” was “Here I Stand,” which remained for seven weeks.
Is there a tracklist for Coming Home?
Usher has not yet unveiled the complete tracklist for his upcoming album, Coming Home. The only confirmed songs on the album are “Good Good,” along with the H.E.R.-assisted “Risk It All” and “Standing Next to You” featuring K-pop artist Jung Kook.

The duet, which H.E.R. co-wrote and produced, debuted at No. 21 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. At the time of publication, it’s reached No. 13 in its second week (Dec. 30).
An official music video for “Risk It All” was released on Dec. 27, two days after the U.S. release of The Color Purple.
On Dec. 1, Usher released his collaboration with Jung Kook, which was later accompanied by an official performance-style video.
Although Usher has released other songs in 2023, including “Boyfriend” and “GLU,” they have not been confirmed as tracks on Coming Home at this time.
