Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and producer Alicia Keys has released The Diary of Alicia Keys 20, a digital deluxe edition of her second album.

The expanded project arrives one day before the 20th anniversary of Keys’ sophomore album, originally released Dec. 2, 2003.

The Diary of Alicia Keys 20 includes all the original songs from the iconic album, plus nine bonus tracks, including the previously unreleased “Golden Child.”

The 24-track set also features various mixes and live versions of the album’s singles, including “You Don’t Know My Name” and “If I Ain’t Got You.”

The live renditions of select tracks are lifted from her 2003 concert at Webster Hall.

Speaking of Webster Hall, Keys will perform The Diary of Alicia Keys in its entirety at her show tonight (Dec. 1) in New York City. The intimate show will be livestreamed via Veeps starting at 9 p.m ET. Tickets are $14.99.

Circling back to The Diary of Alicia Keys, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with 618,000 copies sold in the first week. It spent two weeks atop the popular albums chart.

The album spawned three top 10 hits on the Hot 100: “You Don’t Know My Name” (No. 3 peak), “If I Ain’t Got You” (No. 4 peak) and “Diary” (No. 8 peak). “Karma” also appeared on the Hot 100, peaking at No. 20.

At the 47th Grammy Awards in 2005, Keys won Best R&B Album (The Diary of Alicia Keys), Best R&B Song (“You Don’t Know My Name”) and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance (“If I Ain’t Got You”).

As of August 2020, The Diary of Alicia Keys is certified 5x platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for achieving five million sales units.

In other news, Keys is featured on the upcoming The Color Purple soundtrack. Keys’ song “Lifeline,” which she wrote and co-produced, was recently released as the soundtrack’s lead single.

The Color Purple (Music From & Inspired By) will release Dec. 15 via Warner Bros. Pictures, WaterTower Music and gamma. It will include additional contributions from Fantasia, H.E.R., Usher and many more.
