Rising singer LAVI$H holds signs of admiration from the crowd on ”Your Biggest Fan,” his last track of 2023.
Against a skeletal backdrop punctuated by guitar strums and piano notes, LAVI$H sings praises to a woman he describes as his peace.
He sings, “Show me more / I pray for more / Inviting human being / I’ll stay, I swore / When I look in your eyes / You’re far from insidious / Dazzling soul, woah-oh / Won’t you take my hand? / Oh, you give me comfort.”
“Your Biggest Fan” wraps a year of music releases from newcomer LAVI$H. Prior to this song release, he had brought out his debut EP, You Made a Big Mistake, under the label of Def Jam Recordings. Two of the songs that were released ahead of the project were “World in My Hands” and “We Make Sense.”
“World in My Hands” was produced by Akeel and Yonatan Watts and was his official debut single. The song has over one million streams on Spotify since its release in February. “We Make Sense” came out a month later.
Discussing the latter with Rated R&B, LAVI$H explained, “One day, it’s ‘I love you,’ ‘Together forever,’ and then radio silence the next few years/rest of your lives. Somebody else comes along and shares those same words with who was once yours… Almost like it was your ‘turn.’”
In June, LAVI$H revealed You Made a Big Mistake and later on, he released acoustic and amapiano versions of some of the tracks from the project.
“You Made A Big Mistake is the name of my debut EP, but in reality, the time for revenge has passed. My sentiment is that our time for war will never be over for them, but it’s over for me… it applies to so many areas of my life,” shared LAVI$H.
He continued, “This body of work is best illustrated by the words ‘success is the best revenge’, and I know my growth will haunt some people — but I think there comes a time when you realize it’s time to become timeless. My time is now and forever.”
