Mariah the Scientist has achieved her first two awards from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Her 2020 track “Always n Forever” featuring Lil Baby is certified gold, with 500,000 equivalent units sold.
The Earl on the Beat-produced tune has more than 34 million streams on Spotify.
Meanwhile, the official video has surpassed 19 million views on YouTube.
“Always n Forever” appears on Mariah the Scientist’s album, RY RY World, released July 9, 2021, on RCA Records. The project also includes the Youg Thug-assisted “Walked In.”
Mariah the Scientist has also landed a platinum certification for her 2022 single “Spread Thin,” lifted from her EP, Buckles Laboratories Presents: The Intermission.
The Bluejetta-produced song has sold more than one million equivalent units. It’s Mariah the Scientist’s best-selling single to date.
With 76 million streams on Spotify, “Spread Thin” is the Atlanta, Georgia, native’s most-streamed song on the platform.
Mariah the Scientist’s RIAA awards follow the release of her third album, To Be Eaten Alive. The 10-track set is the rising singer’s first project on Epic Records. She announced her deal just a couple of weeks ahead of releasing To Be Eaten Alive.
“I was reluctant to sign a new deal… But I was excited to find a partner that understands me as an artist and has the infrastructure to support me in the ways I need most,” she said.
Epic Records’ President Ezekiel Lewis added, “Mariah is a dynamic creative force with a clear vision for her music and the experience surrounding it. She is well equipped to help lead R&B music into the future and we could not be more thrilled to be her partners on that journey.”
To Be Eaten Alive was released Oct. 27 via Buckles Laboratories/Epic Records. The album, which includes the lead single “From A Woman,” features verses from Young Thug, 21 Savage and Vory.
On Feb. 1, 2024, Mariah the Scientist will kick off her To Be Eaten Alive Tour in Honolulu, Hawaii. She will then play several dates in the U.K. and Europe, before launching the North American leg on March 6 in Seattle, Washington.
The tour will include additional stops in Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Washington, D.C., and Charlotte before concluding on May 3 in Atlanta.
