Muni Long has another hit under her belt. The Grammy winner’s single “Made For Me” has reached No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart, after debuting at No. 2 last week.
It’s Long’s second No. 1 hit on this chart, following 2022’s “Hrs & Hrs.” The romantic ballad spent five weeks atop the R&B Digital Song Sales chart. It’s worth noting that Long has only two songs that appeared on this list, and they’re both chart toppers.
“Made For Me” is also making gains on other Billboard charts. The Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox produced track soars from No. 93 to No. 44 this week on the Hot 100. It’s now Long’s second-highest charting song on the popular singles chart.
Here’s a quick breakdown of Long’s Hot 100 entries:
- “Hrs & Hrs,” No. 16 peak (2022)
- “Made For Me,” No. 44 peak so far (2024)
- “Angel,” Pt. 1, Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, Jimin, JVKE & Muni Long, No. 65 peak (2023)
On the R&B Streaming Songs chart, “Made For Me” debuts at No. 2 this week. It’s her second entry on the chart after “Hrs & Hrs,” which dominated for 11 weeks.
On the Hot R&B Songs chart, led by SZA’s “Snooze,” “Made For Me” moves up four spots to No. 4.
At the time of publication, “Made For Me” is No. 11 on Apple Music’s Top 100 Global Songs chart and No. 5 on its Top 100 USA Songs chart.
Earlier this month, Long debuted the official video for the track, which now has 3.7 million views. The Trinidad James and Des Gray-directed video co-stars fellow R&B singer Luke James.
“I wanted to have fun with this video and really think outside of the box. It’s my little nod to A.I. mixed with Frankenstein,” Long explained. “If you want to find the perfect person in a limited dating pool, you might just have to create them! It’s only science fiction for now, but with how fast technology is changing, could this be our reality someday?”
