R&B heartthrob SiR makes a mighty return with “No Evil,” his first official single since 2022, via TDE/The Orchard.
On the Taylor Hill-produced track, SiR trades his velvety, smooth vocals for a grittier approach, as he balances themes of loneliness and longing.
“What’s your superpower / Show me what you’re made of / I’ve been lonely for days / But we’re one in the same,” SiR sings.
“No Evil” arrives with a Loris Russier-directed visual, which is an ode to D’Angelo’s iconic “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” video. Against a black backdrop, SiR passionately belts out every lyric, shirtless and glistening with oil. Viewers are treated to various angles of his chiseled physique, with cuts to a mysterious woman and two dancers.
While the video spotlights SiR’s bulging arms and rippling abs, it’s not just eye candy; his new physique represents his personal evolution. The Inglewood, California, native discussed his body goals in a 2022 interview with Rated R&B.
“I’m trying to lose a little weight, so I’m just trying to keep it healthy today,” SiR said about the salmon and vegetables lunch he had. He also talked about what he enjoyed doing when he wasn’t making music. “I love the gym. I’ve been working out like crazy as of late.”
At that time, SiR had just released his single “Satisfaction,” which kicked off the campaign for his third album. “‘Satisfaction’ was probably one of the first times where I really felt my actual emotional status on wax,” he told Rated R&B.
SiR’s upcoming album will also include “Nothing Even Matters,” his first top 10 radio hit, and the Scribz Riley-assisted “Life Is Good.”
“I’m in a different space mentally, physically, and spiritually. It’s going to be enlightening and tell a side of my life that people haven’t heard yet,” SiR shared with Rated R&B of the album. “So many things have changed with me.”
On Thursday (Jan. 25), SiR told fans on X, formerly Twitter, that his new album is complete and he plans to hit the road. “Album is finished & working on a tour,” SiR posted on X.
A release date for SiR’s next album, Heavy, has not been announced yet.
