R&B veteran Craig David has announced his 7 Days Commitment Tour, his first tour in six years.
The eight-city North American leg kicks off May 4 at the Lovers & Friends Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. From there, the British singer will perform in San Fransisco, New York, Toronto, and more, before concluding May 16 at Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C.
Presale tickets will be available for Citi cardmembers beginning today (Feb. 13) at 12 p.m. ET until Thursday, Feb. 15, at 10 p.m. local time.
Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m. local time. Fans will have the option to purchase VIP packages.
The varying packages include premium tickets, an on-stage photo opportunity, an autographed tour poster, an exclusive special message from David and more.
David’s tour announcement comes on the heels of his magical collaboration with singer Wes Nelson, “Abracadabra.” The R&B/garage track was released Feb. 2.
“Craig has been a big inspiration to me since I was a kid, so when the opportunity arose to jump into the studio together it was a no brainer!” said Nelson.
“In the past, there have been some comparisons between the two of us as singers; we’re on a similar sort of wave, and clearly, it’s a collaboration that people wanted. We made the whole song start to finish in the studio – it felt really natural.”
David released his eighth album, 22, on Sept. 30, 2022, via Moor Records. The project included features from Muni Long (“Obvious”), MNEK (“Who You Are”), Galantis (“DNA“) KYLE (“Already Know”), Nippa (“G Love“), Duvall (“My Heart’s Been Waiting for You”), and more.
The album’s title celebrated the 22nd anniversary of his critically acclaimed debut, Born to Do It. The album, released Aug. 20, 2000, included his Grammy-nominated singles “7 Days” and “Fill Me In.”
“There’s a spiritualism in the number 22 and what it represents. In numerology, it’s a very powerful number and in terms of angel numbers it’s bringing balance and equilibrium to my life. We’re in a world where there’s a lot of me against you, and so it’s bridging the gap,” David explained.
“My debut album is probably the most clear expression of who I am because it was my first outing – it’s everything you are. So on this album there’s that energy mixed with the wisdom and experience I can bring to the world. I’ve not mastered anything yet, I’m a newcomer still.”
