Mary J. Blige’s single “Still Believe in Love” continues to reign on the charts.

The hopeful track, featuring rapper Vado, is No. 1 for an eighth consecutive week on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. It’s also No. 1 at R&B radio for another week, with an audience impression of 7.7 million, according to Mediabase.

“Still Believe in Love” now ties as Blige’s third longest-running No. 1 single on the Adult R&B Airplay.

Musiq Soulchild’s hit “IfULeave,” featuring Blige, spent eight weeks at the top of the chart in 2009. Her best was in 2016 with her smash hit “Thick of It,” which dominated the chart for 16 weeks.

Here is a breakdown of all of Mary J. Blige’s No. 1 hits on the Adult R&B Airplay chart:

  • “Thick of It,” 16 weeks at No. 1 (2016)
  • “Be Without You,” 14 weeks at No. 1 (2006)
  • “Still Believe in Love,” 8 weeks at No. 1 so far (2024)
  • “IfULeave,” Musiq Soulchild featuring Mary J. Blige, 8 weeks at No. 1 (2009)
  • “Good Morning Gorgeous,” 4 weeks at No. 1 (2022)
  • “Not Gon’ Cry,” 4 weeks at No. 1 (1996)
  • “U + Me (Love Lesson),” 3 weeks at No. 1 (2017)
  • “Take Me As I Am,” 1 week at No. 1 (2007)

The euphoric track — produced by Jelli Dorman, Kuk Harrell, Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman and DJ Cassidy — debuted at No. 28 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart dated Nov. 4, 2023. By late December, “Still Believe in Love” climbed to No. 1.

“I wrote [‘Still Believe in Love’] when I was fresh out of my divorce because I needed to say something different and something positive, other than what was going on in my life,” Blige explained to Big Tigger during an Audacy Check In. “I had to believe in myself. The timing, the climate for the song was just perfect for right now. People need some positivity.”

In the same interview, Blige confirmed a new project, slated to arrive this summer, which she described as “something nice for my fans.”

Blige’s upcoming project will follow her Grammy-nominated album, Good Morning Gorgeous, released in 2022.

In other news, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul was recently announced among the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees.

Other nominees include Mariah Carey, Sade, Lenny Kravitz, and Kool & The Gang, to name a few. It’s Blige’s second time appearing on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominee ballot; she first appeared on it in 2021.

“This remarkable list of Nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates,” said  John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. “Continuing in the true spirit of Rock & Roll, these artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps.”
