Emerging R&B singer and songwriter Liza has returned with The Alternate Ending, her first EP in three years.
The six-song set was preceded by the singles “In The End” and “Back For More” featuring TOBi.
Regarding the latter track, Liza told Rated R&B, “I think it’s sometimes easier to go back to something that’s familiar even though it might not be the healthiest dynamic. I feel like it’s something a lot of people go through where you find yourself unknowingly entering a ‘toxic’ situation because you don’t want to fully let go. This song is a chapter in a larger story, and a part two to the first single.”
“The Alternate Ending offers a different perspective on life and love, emphasizing that ‘goodbyes’ aren’t always negative—they can be healing and serve as catalysts for change and growth, helping you become the person you’re meant to be,” Liza tells Rated R&B.
“The title track delves into this idea, prompting me to introspect and realize how much better life can be when you truly let go of people, things, and environments that, sometimes unknowingly, hold you back.”
The Alternate Ending is the follow-up to the Canadian singer’s debut EP, Done Is Done. The project included her popular track “Lansdowne.”
