Rising singer Maeta has joined forces with Kaytranada for her new single “DJ Got Me,” co-written by Fallon King of Cherish.
On the hypnotic track, which interpolates Indeep’s “Last Night a D.J. Saved My Life,” Maeta finds solace on the dance floor. She allows herself to get lost in the music, not caring who’s watching.
“Now I’m vibing real deep / Shouldn’t have stayed for the last song / But every time he keep / Bringing that heat so I’m not done,”
“DJ Got Me” is the first single from Maeta’s upcoming EP, Endless Night, out June 21 via Roc Nation Records. All the tracks were produced by Kaytranada.
Maeta first teased her collaborative project with Kaytranada in a 2023 interview with Rated R&B. She mentioned that four songs on the project were written by Fallon King, and two were penned by James Fauntleroy.
Endless Night will follow Maeta’s 2023 EP, When I Hear Your Name, which included the Kaytranada-helmed “Questions.” The project also included her No. 1 hit “Through The Night,” which topped Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart for two weeks.
“I’m so excited to have my first number one!” Maeta exclusively told Rated R&B. “This has been a dream of mine ever since I was little, and I want to thank everyone who has supported me thus far. There’s so much more to come very soon!”
Maeta and Kaytranada first collaborated in 2021 on her song “Teen Scene” from her debut EP, Habits.
On June 5, Maeta will join Chris Brown on The 11:11 Tour as a special guest. She is featured on “Best Ever” from Brown’s 11th album, 11:11.
