Genre-bending artist Tink has enlisted Summer Walker for her new single “Songs About U.” It was co-produced by Hitmaka, S-Dot, and Cam Griff.
On the acoustic-laden track, Tink and Walker find themselves on the verge of rekindling a toxic love affair, thanks to liquid courage.
Tink sings in the first verse, “You know how I get with that liquor in my system / All I got is memories, I hate that you went missing
“Thinking, ‘Should I risk it to take you off that block list?’ / Knowing damn well that I don’t want thеm problems,” Walker sings in the second verse.
“Songs About U” arrives seven months after Tink appeared on Walker’s “Girls Need Love (Girls Mix).” Walker released a five-song set that included remixes with Victoria Monét and Tyla, as well as an acoustic version and the original version.
“Songs About U” is the third single from Tink’s upcoming project, Winter’s Diary 5, out July 12. The album will also include the other singles “Charged Up” and “Huh.”
Winter’s Diary 5 is the follow-up to Tink’s 2023 album, Thanks 4 Nothing, which included features from Ty Dolla $ign and Yung Bleu.
WD5 is the fifth installment of the Chicago native’s series that began in 2012. From 2014 through 2016, she released one installment per year. Her forthcoming set will arrive nearly eight years after Winter’s Diary 4.
On June 19, Tink will join Jhené Aiko on The Magic Hour Tour along with Coi Leray, Umi, and Kiana Ledé. The 27-city tour will make stops in Detroit, Philadelphia, Houston, Atlanta, and more, before concluding Aug. 22 in Columbus, Ohio.
