Ciara has new certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) to add to her collection.
The Grammy winner’s debut album, Goodies, has been certified 4x platinum with four million equivalent units sold. It remains her best-selling album to date.
All four of the album’s singles have also landed new awards. The Missy Elliott-assisted “1, 2 Step” is now certified 5x platinum with five million equivalent units sold. It’s CiCi’s highest-certified single so far.
The lead single and title track, featuring Petey Pablo, is now certified 3x platinum with three million equivalent units sold.
The Ludacris-assisted has been declared double platinum with two million equivalent units sold.
Last but certainly not least, Ciara’s timeless ballad “And I” is now certified gold, selling over 500,000 units.
Ciara’s new RIAA certifications come ahead of the 20th anniversary of Goodies, which was released Sept. 28, 2004, via Sho’nuff/LaFace Records. It debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 125,000 copies solid in the first week.
The album was preceded by “Goodies,” which was released June 8, 2004. It spent seven consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and made history as the longest-running No. 1 debut single by a female artist since 1977.
Today, Ciara celebrated the anniversary of her debut single by recreating the cover art for Goodies 20 years later.
“I’ll never forget this day I released my single Goodies. I had tears in my eyes as I was rolling through the drive-through. My dream was really coming true!” she wrote in the comment section of her Instagram post.

“1, 2 Step” and “Oh” both reached No. 2 on the Hot 100, while “And I,” the album’s final single, peaked at No. 96.
On Sept. 28, Ciara will release a Goodies (20th Anniversary) on vinyl. It will include the original album (“Next To You” featuring R. Kelly has been omitted), plus two gems: “Crazy” and “Represent Me.” It will also feature a new dance mix of “Goodies” by Dipha Barus. The limited edition vinyl is available now for pre-order.
Before the 20th anniversary of Goodies, Ciara will embark on the Out of This World Tour with Missy Elliott and Busta Rhymes. The 24-city tour begins July 4 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The tour will make additional stops in Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Brooklyn, and Toronto. The tour will conclude Aug. 23 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
Last August, Ciara released her EP, CiCi, via her independent label Beauty Marks Entertainment. The project included her Chris Brown-assisted single “How We Roll,” which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart.
“I wanted to curate and set the tone of my next music chapter with this EP,” Ciara exclusively told Rated R&B. This project is the start of really exciting things to come, but most importantly, I want my fans to know that the Ci Ci they have always loved is in her R&B bag.”
