Keith Sweat’s latest single, “Lay You Down,” rises to No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
The bedroom jam replaces Teddy Swims‘ soul-stirring “Lose Control” after its three-week run.
“Lay You Down” is Sweat’s third chart-topper on the Adult R&B Airplay. His previous hits include “Boomerang” featuring Candace Price (2019) and “Good Love” (2016). Both songs spent one week in the prime spot.
At R&B radio, “Lay You Down” moves from No. 2 to No. 1 this week (June 23-29). It received 2,141 spins, a gain of 281, with 5.8 million audience impressions, according to Mediabase.
Released on Valentine’s Day, “Lay You Down” entered the top 10 on the Adult R&B Airplay Chart in April. The Wirlie Morris-produced track marked Sweat’s 16th top 10 hit on this list.
“Lay You Down” is Sweat’s first single since 2021’s “Can’t Nobody” featuring Raheem DeVaughn. The latter song, also produced by Morris and Sweat, peaked at No. 5 on the Adult R&B Airplay.
Sweat’s last album, Playing For Keeps, was released in 2019. The 13-track offering included features from K-Ci Hailey, Teddy Riley, Tank, Akon and more.
On Aug. 23, the R&B legend will kick off The Sweat Hotel Tour in Stockton, California. Sweat will make stops in Las Vegas, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Atlanta before concluding Oct. 6 in Baltimore.
