Keith Sweat and Raheem DeVaughn have teamed up for a new track titled “Can’t Nobody.”
Aided by an organ and a bass guitar, the R&B gents rant and rave about their women despite the loud chatter going on around town that is designed to tear them apart. Both are solid in their commitment to their respective woman, singing, “Can’t nobody tell me shit about my, my baby / The only reason why they talking like that is you’re my, my, my, my, my lady.”
“At this stage of my career, I make music that move me to say something. I am not interested in releasing music for the sake of statistics. I really became a fan of Raheem last year when we worked together and wanted to do a song with him. This is the result of that collaboration and I hope you enjoy it,” said Sweat in a statement.
“Can’t Nobody” is Sweat’s first song as lead in three years. He released his last proper album, Playing For Keeps, in 2018. The lead single, “Boomerang,” featuring Candace Price, peaked at number one on R&B radio and Billboard charts.
Like clockwork, DeVaughn is working on releasing his second project of the year. He recently shared a soulful remake of “Let It Be” by The Beatles. It’s billed as the official first release from his upcoming EP Beatles Soul.
DeVaughn joined Detroit producer Apollo Brown for the joint album Lovesick, released in June.
