Genre-bending artist Isaia Huron has released his new EP, I’ll Finish The Lyrics Later, via Slang Music.
The project includes the previously shared “Circle.”
Speaking on the song’s creation, he told Rated R&B, “It’s just funny that a song I made three years ago in the baptism room of my dad’s church in Greenville, now having the imagery of a stripper all over the video. I think it just shows the duality that exists within me and I think really within all people.”
I’ll Finish The Lyrics Later consists of nine incomplete tracks from Huron’s vault. Though the project is filled with rough tracks, it makes for an ear-pleasing listen. “Bones,” “Delime,” “Aisha Potter” and “Bell” are among the EP’s highlights.
“This collection of songs was never really supposed to come out. I originally created them in my father’s church, just putting them on SoundCloud without any real plans to share them further. But as people started to connect with the music, I thought, why not?” says Huron.
“This project is about embracing the unfinished and the evolving nature of creating music. I’ll Finish The Lyrics Later captures the idea that sometimes, music is a journey in progress, and it’s okay to leave some things unfinished as you find your way through.”
I’ll Finish The Lyrics Later is the follow-up to Huron’s 2023 project, LIBBIE 02, a reworked version of 2020’s Libbie.
