Summer Walker has picked up her first-ever No. 1 single on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart as a guest artist on 21 Savage‘s “Prove It.”
The track, which samples “You Are My Joy (Interlude)” by Faith Evans, is 21 Savage’s third song this year to top this airplay chart following “Redrum,” which led for two weeks in April. It’s the rapper’s eighth chart-topper overall.
Walker’s previous high on this chart was Usher‘s major hit “Good Good,” which also featured 21 Savage. The Mel & Mus-produced track peaked at No. 2 during the week of Oct. 20, 2023.
It’s worth nothing that “Good Good” soared to No. 1 on Mediabase’s Rhythmic radio chart. In addition to “Good Good” and “Prove It,” Walker’s other hit on the Rhythmic Airplay chart was her 2019 single, “Come Thru,” featuring Usher.
The latter, Grammy-nominated song, lifted from her blockbuster debut album, Over It, reached No. 8, marking Walker’s first of three songs in the top 10 on this chart.
In addition to the Rhythmic Airplay chart, “Prove It” has reached notable positions on other Billboard charts. Below are its peak rankings on other lists at the time of publication.
- Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, No. 3
- R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, No. 4
- Rap Airplay, No. 4
- Hot Rap Songs, No. 14
- Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, No. 16
- Hot 100, No. 47
On Spotify, “Prove It” has gathered over 139.5 million streams. There is currently no official music video for the track; however, the official audio has over 23 million views on YouTube.
“Prove It” is lifted from 21 Savage’s most recent album, American Dream.
Charts aside, Walker recently made her eagerly anticipated return with her brand new single, “Heart of a Woman.” The Brandy-coded track was produced by Tavaras Jordan and was released on Oct. 25 as the lead single from her upcoming third album, Finally Over It.
Walker’s upcoming album does not yet have an official release date; however, it will follow her sophomore album, Still Over It, which was her last full-length project. Finally Over It will conclude a trilogy that began with Over It in 2018.
Finally Over It follows her 2023 release, CLEAR 2: Soft Life EP, a sequel to her favored 2019 EP, CLEAR. The former project was nominated for Best R&B Album at the 66th Grammy Awards in February, marking Walker’s first solo nomination.
As for 21 Savage, the Grammy-winning rapper has been grinding with the promotional campaign for his latest album, American Dream, released in February 2024.
American Dream debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 133,000 equivalent units sold in the first week. It spent two weeks atop the chart.
