R&B stars Khalid and Normani are set to reunite on their new song “Personal.”
On Sunday (Dec. 1), Khalid took to social media to announce that their new collaboration will release Friday, Dec. 6.
“PERSONAL @Normani 12/6 ,” Khalid wrote on X (formerly Twitter), with a photo of him and Normani photographed together against a forest green backdrop.
In a separate post, Khalid shared behind-the-scenes footage of the two lip-syncing to a 48-second snippet of the track.
“So sensual / You know that I could never stay mad at you / So what you gonna do? / Put your body on my body / Get personal,” they harmonized before Normani previewed her verse.
“We can keep it private between you and me / The door is open / You don’t even need a key / You’ve been pushing on me so relentlessly,” she flirtatiously sang while winding her body seductively for the camera.

Khalid and Normani’s upcoming track will mark their second collaboration. They first joined forces in 2018 for “Love Lies,” which was featured on the Love, Simon soundtrack. The song peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, which marked Normani’s entry and top 10 hit as a solo act.
Two years after its release, in October 2020, “Love Lies” was certified 5x platinum by the RIAA for selling over five million equivalent units in the U.S.
On Spotify, the Charlie Handsome and Digi-produced track is nearing one billion streams. At the time of this writing, “Love Lies” has 969.3 million streams on Spotify. Meanwhile, the official music video has been viewed over 268 million times on YouTube.
“Personal” will mark Normani and Khalid’s first taste of music since releasing their albums respectively earlier this year.
In June, Normani released her long-awaited debut solo album, Dopamine, via RCA Records. The album, anchored by 2020’s “Wild Side” with Cardi B, included additional features from Gunna (“1:59“), James Blake (“Tantrums”), and Starrah (“Big Boy”).
Dopamine debuted at No. 9 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart.
Khalid released his third album, Sincere, in August via Right Hand Music Group/RCA Records. The album, which featured a guest appearance from Arlo Parks, included the singles “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me,” “Adore U,” “Ground,” and “Heatstroke.”
“Sincere is a combination of my life experiences; it takes inspiration from conversations that I have had with my fans, supporters, and the people that love me,” Khalid explained.
“When I listen back to this project, I hear a sound that’s so unique and represents me at my best. This album is me at 26, continuing to evolve with the knowledge that I have garnered throughout the years.”
Sincere also landed a top 10 debut on the Top R&B Albums chart, peaking at No. 2.
In relative news, Khalid has also unveiled his new collaboration with Ayra Starr, “Make It Up To You,” also releasing on Dec. 6.
The singer announced the track on Monday (Dec. 2), which could mean that there’s a deluxe version of Sincere coming on Friday. (Khalid has not announced where these songs will end up yet.)
