Muni Long’s latest single, “Ruined Me,” remains No. 1 for a second consecutive week on Billboard‘s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
The emotionally charged ballad, produced by Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman and Kevin Theodore, is now the Grammy winner’s longest-running No. 1 hit on this chart.
Her previous chart-topper, “Make Me Forget,” only headlined for one week in August.
As already reported, “Ruined Me” is Long’s second song to lead the Adult R&B chart. It follows the success of her first chart-buster, “Make Me Forget,” the second single from her sophomore album, Revenge.
The album’s lead single, “Made For Me,” peaked at No. 2 in December 2023. The viral hit produced by Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, and Jordan XL was a show-stopper on other Billboard charts, most notably topping R&B Digital Song Sales for 13 weeks.
Elsewhere on Billboard, “Ruined Me” climbs to No. 28 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay in its second week, having previously peaked at No. 12 on both Hot R&B Songs and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay.
“Ruined Me” is Long’s third single from Revenge, which released Aug. 30 via Def Jam Recordings. The song was officially released on July 26 after previews during Long’s special guest appearances for Chris Brown’s 11:11 Tour.
Long supported “Ruined Me” with live performances at Jimmy Kimmel Live! and for Amazon Music’s City Sessions.
In an exclusive interview with Rated R&B, Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman explained how he advocated for “Ruined Me” to be included in the already submitted tracklist for Revenge.
Gitelman exclusively told Rated R&B, “She’s like, ‘Gitty. If we could get the stems over, this could actually be on the album, even though my album is literally done.’ She’s like, ‘This needs to be on the album.’ She wanted to get some s—t off her chest, so I just provided the soundtrack.”
At the 2025 Grammys, “Ruined Me” has been nominated for Best R&B Song. Long, who has received the most nominations among R&B categories at the upcoming 67th ceremony, is also up for Best R&B Album for Revenge, Best R&B Performance for “Made For Me [Live on BET],” and Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Make Me Forget.”
In other news, Long reimagined The Jackson 5’s “Give Love On Christmas Day” exclusively for Amazon Music’s latest Originals playlist.
