Grammy-nominated singer Alex Isley has signed a deal with Free Lunch and Warner Records.
The newly-minted imprint is a collaboration between hip-hop/R&B executive Tim Hinshaw’s Free Lunch Agency — a creative and touring company — and Warner Music Group. Isley and Syd are the first two acts signed to Free Lunch.
With her label signing, Isley has released “Hands,” the first single from her upcoming EP due this spring.
Produced by Camper (Brandy, H.E.R., Coco Jones), “Hands” hears Isley’s angelic vocals drifting over gentle guitar and drums, as she longs for her lover’s touch.
“Pull me into your embrace with your, hands / No silk, no satin / Just touch me with your hands,” she sings on the passionate tune.

Speaking on “Hands,” Isley shares, “There’s so much power in a touch that’s rooted in love and affection. The memory of it can remind you how much it’s really worth. This is an ode to really being in the moment with your person.”
“Hands” is accompanied by a sultry video directed by City James, which can be watched below.
“Hands” is Isley’s first solo release since her 2022 EP Marigold. The project, created in collaboration with producer Jack Dine, featured the singles “Still Wonder” with Robert Glasper and “Love Again.
Since then, Isley has collaborated with producer Tank (“No Limit“), Rory (“I Want You But You’ll Never Know“), her father Ernie Isley of The Isley Brothers (“Brown Eyed Girl”), SiR (“Back To Love“), Kenyon Dixon (“& Then Some”), Destin Conrad (“Same Mistake“) and Rapsody (“Loose Rocks”). “Back To Love” earned Isley her first two Grammy nominations at the 66th Grammy Awards for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance.
Additionally, teamed with producer and musician Terrace Martin for their joint album, I Left My Heart In Ladera (2023). The project scored Isley her first Billboard entry, debuting at No. 2 on the Contemporary Jazz Albums chart.
