Chicago-born R&B singer Miriah Renee has released her new single “Brand New.”
The Paul Type and BARii-produced track samples 3LW‘s 2000 single “No More (Baby I’ma Do Right).”
On “Brand New,” Renee lets it be known that she won’t tolerate nonsense from a no-good lover and will happily move on.
“This record allows me as a woman to flip things a little and talk some shit,” says Renee. “Usually, the s–t-talking is from the guys, so I figured a fun female anthem will be the perfect script-flip on them.”
As far as sampling 3LW’s signature hit, she shares, “The 3LW sample was a no-brainer; it brought my girl group days right back to life. I loved the 3LW record and love my ‘Brand New’ version.”
“Brand New” arrives with an Annie Bercy-directed music video, inspired by the iconic video game The Sims.
“Brand New” is the follow-up to Renee’s 2024 track “All The Time.” Before that, she released her debut EP, 6/4, in 2022. The project included the singles “Jokes On Me” and “I Need.”
