Xavier Omär embraces every twist and turn of his love journey on his new album, HunnyMoon Mountain.
Released May 2 via XO Creative Club, HunnyMoon Mountain is a 37-minute trek through love’s haze, where things aren’t so clear but the only way is forward.
“The album begins at the midpoint of the mountain, when the going gets tough. But it’s the climb that defines the story,” explains Omär. “It’s a testament to the struggle for connection, even when surrender seems like the easier path.”

On the scene-setting opener “Miserable,” featuring Samoht, Omär grapples with disorientation while yearning for resolution. “I am miserable with you, baby / Singing all my temporary blues / But if I had to decide how to live this crazy life / I wanna reach that mountain, climbing with you,” he croons.
“The One That I Fell For,” produced by Southpaw Swade, captures the angst of watching a lover turn into someone unrecognizable. “You are not the one that I fell for / Someone I ain’t missing comes through that door,” Omär sings in a hushed tone.
On the reggae-tinged “Take Her Love,” helmed by J. Robb, Omär faces the fact that he’s been taking his woman’s love for granted: “I told my baby I don’t need her, that was stupid / Lost my head like a two-seater where the roof is / Won’t let me back to apologize.”
As the album progresses, the staticky connection grows stronger as heard in songs like “Afraid, Pt. 2,” a sequel to his 2017 breakout track, and “Love Again.”

Closing with “The Moments I’ve Had With You,” Omär reflects on his trek through HunnyMoon Mountain with no regrets: “I realize it wasn’t all roses / But roses still did bloom / Once again, I’d do / Every moment I’ve had with you.”
HunnyMoon Mountain is Omär’s first album in five years, following 2020’s if You Feel, released under RCA Records. The album featured collaborations with Masego (“SURF”), Mereba (“Like I Feel”), Jae Stephens (“All Our Time”) and Quinn Barlow (“Lil’ Healer”).
Since then, the Texas native released his b l u r r EP (2022), which included the standout ballad “Feelings 4 You,” and his joint EP with ELHAE, Truth Be Told (2024).
