R&B crooners Xavier Omär and ELHAE have released their collaborative EP, Truth Be Told.
The five-track offering includes the previously shared “Favourite” and “Luv 4 U.”
Opening with “Vulnerable,” produced by ESTA and Dylan Graham, Omär and ELHAE let their guards down as they sing about the uneasy feeling of taking a chance on love. “See, I can’t lie / I wasn’t sure / But these feelings I can’t ignore / So why don’t we try / Want you to only be mine,” ELHAE sings.
“It’s All There (Secrets)” drips with the sweetness of a mango as they enjoy a night of passion between the sheets with their respective lovers.
On the closing track, “Let You Down,” Omär and ELHAE sing about the fear of making a costly mistake in a relationship that will leave them all alone. “What if I let you down?” they harmonize.
Speaking on Truth Be Told, Xavier Omär explained to Rated R&B, “This project is a thank you to the fans in many ways. After the love that ‘Favourite’ received and the love we received from the fans on tour, we thought this was a nice way to put a bow on the era. The music came together rather easy because of our chemistry, so we hope people feel that as they listen.”
ELHAE added, “It was fun to bounce ideas with one of the most talented people in R&B today. It just so happens he’s also been my best friend since childhood. It felt like a great time to give our listeners a token of our gratitude and also scratch something off our bucket list.”
In 2023, ELHAE and Xavier Omär embarked on their co-headlining Never Dream: The Tour. Earlier in the year, ELHAE released his album Forgotten Flowers, while Omär’s last EP, b l u r r, was released in 2022.
