Sevyn Streeter has shared a new cover of “The Christmas Song,” the holiday perennial made famous by Nat King Cole.
Like Cole’s, Streeter’s faithful version can be enjoyed year after year.
In tandem with the remake, Streeter releases a beautiful video directed by Mike Ho. In it, Streeter sings by a piano in a winter wonderland setting.
“The Christmas Song” is Streeter’s latest song released this year. She previously released the hot girl summer anthem “23,” which Needlz and Domgotbeats co-produced. She paired the banger with a music video that MdotforMayor directed.
“It was literally 100 degrees the day we shot this, but we still had a fuq’n ball doin it,” Streeter wrote of the video in an Instagram caption.
Streeter reissued her 2021 album, Drunken Wordz Sober Thoughtz, as a deluxe edition in February. The expanded version featured five new tracks, one of which was an acoustic version of “Guilty,” the album’s lead single featuring Chris Brown and A$AP Ferg.
Both versions of Drunken Wordz Sober Thoughtz had guest appearances from Lucky Daye (“Feelz“), Jeremih (“Wet Dreamz“), BIA (“Nasty Girl“) and Lavi$h (“Forever”).
Drunken Wordz Sober Thoughtz was among Rated R&B’s Best R&B Albums of 2021 list.
Rated R&B’s Anders Hare said the album “takes die-hard fans on a ride through Streeter’s most intimate fears and doubts about her relationships and attracts new ones along the way.”
Throughout this year, Streeter has lent her vocals to songs by Dixson (“Cherry Sorbet“) and Babyface (“G Wagon“). Her work with Dixson appears on his most recent project, 004DAISY, released on Roc Nation.
At the same time, her collaboration with Babyface is lifted from his Capitol Records debut, Girls Night Out.
Streeter and Dixson shared a video for “Cherry Sorbet.” At the time of publication, the visual for the tasty track has amassed more than 416,000 views on YouTube. On Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, “Cherry Sorbet” has reached No. 14.
