The Isley Brothers, consisting of Ronald and Ernie Isley, has secured a new top 10 hit.
Their latest single, “Last Time,” rises to No. 9 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, becoming their seventh top 10 hit.
The track, co-produced by Scott Storch and illDaProducer, debuted at No. 25 on this airplay chart the week dated July 15, 2023.
“Last Time” is the third track from The Isley Brothers’ 2022 album, Make Me Say It Again, Girl, to appear on the Adult R&B Airplay chart.
Their previous record, which was the title track and featured Beyoncé, spent five weeks at No. 1 last fall.
It marked The Isley Brothers’ first No. 1 hit since 2001’s “Contagious,” which remained in the top position for two weeks.
“Make Me Say It Again, Girl” was first recorded and included in the platinum-selling album The Heat Is On by the legendary R&B group in 1975.
Prior to the two songs, “Friends and Family,” the album’s lead single featuring Snoop Dogg, reached No. 13 in September 2021.
Erik White directed the latter song’s star-studded video, which had cameos from Alex Isley (Ernie’s daughter), Syleena Johnson, LisaRaye McCoy, Vivica A. Fox and more.
Make Me Say It Again, Girl was released Sept. 30, 2022, via RI Top Ten. The LP includes features from Earth, Wind & Fire, EL DeBarge, Trey Songz, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Quavo and Takeoff.
Of the album, Ronald told Billboard in 2022, “For me, this new album is almost like the beginning. I’m so happy about it. But I also want people to hear it and decide. I remember when I couldn’t wait for people to hear ‘That Lady’ when we were mixing it. That’s how excited we all were. You just want all of your fans to hear it too.”
Make Me Say It Again, Girl is the follow-up to the Isley Brothers’ joint album with Carlos Santana, Power of Peace, released in 2017.
