Maeta’s current single, “Through The Night,” has propelled her promising career to new heights.

The Free Nationals-assisted track climbs from No. 12 to No. 8 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, marking Maeta’s first top 10 hit on the chart.

Maeta nearly achieved her first top 10 hit on the chart with her seductive track “S(EX).” The song, which includes a sample from Floetry’s 2003 classic “Say Yes” and was co-written by Kehlani and Ant Clemons, reached No. 13 during the summer and spent a total of 17 weeks on the chart.

Beyond Billboard, “Through The Night” has given Maeta her first top 10 hit on R&B radio. According to Mediabase, the silky tune moved from No. 11 to No. 9 this week.

“Through The Night” is the second single from Maeta’s recent project When I Hear Your Name, which was released on June 9 under Roc Nation Records.

Elijah Blake and Lucky Daye co-wrote and provided background vocal support for the track produced by Camper. Livvi Franc also contributed backing vocals, and Josh Rios assisted with additional production.

Maeta premiered a live in-studio performance of “Through The Night” prior to the project and later released the official video in August.

When I Hear Your Name is a music project with 13 tracks featuring Lucky Daye, Ty Dolla $ign, James Fauntleroy, and Ambré. It boasts songwriting and production credits from The-Dream, SZA, OG Parker, Charlotte Day Wilson, Kaytranada, and others.

In an interview with Rated R&B, Maeta shared what she hopes fans take away from When I Hear Your Name.

“I want to show that love is complicated and it’s okay not to know why you feel the way you do. That’s one thing I’ve trying to figure out,” said Maeta.

“I think that we have to accept the fact that love is hard and complicated. And that’s what the project shows. I hope it comforts people who are going through that.”

Last month, Maeta concluded her mini-tour in support of When I Hear Your Name. She was recently recruited to appear on “Best Ever,” a song from Chris Brown’s freshly-released album, 11:11.
