Usher has unveiled the official video for his duet with H.E.R., “Risk It All.”
Directed by Dave Meyers, the stunning visual captures Usher and H.E.R. in their undergarments as they’re on a turntable surrounded by a troupe of interpretive dancers similarly clad.
“Risk It All” is the second single from The Color Purple soundtrack, following Alicia Keys’ “Lifelife.” The soundtrack was released Dec. 15 via Warner Bros. Pictures, WaterTower Music and gamma.
The Color Purple (Music From and Inspire By) includes additional songs by Mary J. Blige, Fantasia, Keyshia Cole, Jorja Smith, Coco Jones and more.
Circling back to “Risk It All,” the H.E.R.-produced tune is No. 13 on BIllboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart at the time of publication.
The song will also be featured on Usher’s upcoming album, Coming Home. The highly awaited project arrives Feb. 9, 2024, via mega/gamma.
Coming Home will include Usher’s No. 1 hit “Good Good” featuring Summer Walker and 21 Savage.
The track spent five non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. It also topped the following airplay formats: R&B, urban, and rhythmic.
Two days after releasing Coming Home, Usher will headline Apple Music’s Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, Feb. 11, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
As for H.E.R., the Grammy and Oscar-winner stars as Squeak in the musical adaptation of The Color Purple, which is in theaters now.
In November, she released her rendition of “The Glass” by Foo Fighters. She previously performed the song with the band on Saturday Night Live.
Earlier this spring, H.E.R. released an original song titled “The Journey.” The uplifting anthem was written by the legendary Diane Warren.
“The Journey” was released as part of ESPN’s storytelling for the 2023 NBA Playoffs Presented by Google Pixel.
It’s been two years since H.E.R. released her debut album, Back of My Mind. The gold-selling album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart.
