Grammy-nominated singer Alex Isley has revealed her new EP, WHEN, will release April 18 via Free Lunch Records/Warner Records.
The mini project, Isley’s first under a major record label, will include the lead single, “Hands,” and the newly shared “Ms. Goody Two Shoes.”
On the smoldering slow jam, produced by Camper, Isley sings of an intimate moment shared with her love interest, shrouded in secrecy.
In a way, the song’s lyrics play into the old saying, “A lady in the streets but a freak in the sheets.” Isley sings in the chorus: “Yes it’s immaculate and it’s magic / Thank your lucky stars imma let you have it / Oooh ooh, but it stays between me and you / Ooh ooh, to the world I’m Ms. Goody Two Shoes.”
She even gives a nod to her 2020 track “Good & Plenty,” singing, “I ain’t pull those ‘Good & Plenty’ lyrics out thin air / Come and feel my inspiration, way too good to share.”

Isley’s signing to Free Lunch Records and Warner Records was announced in February, along with the debut of “Hands.”
Regarding the latter sensual track, Isley said, “There’s so much power in a touch that’s rooted in love and affection. The memory of it can remind you how much it’s really worth. This is an ode to really being in the moment with your person.”
WHEN will mark Isley’s first solo project since releasing her Marigold EP in 2022. The project, produced by Jack Dine, included the Robert Glasper-assisted single “Still Wonder” and “Love Again.”
In 2023, Isley released her joint album with producer and musician Terrace Martin, I Left My Heart In Ladera. The project earned Isley her first Billboard entry, debuting at No. 2 on the Contemporary Jazz Albums chart.
