August Alsina teams with Zayn for a stirring remix to his track “Don’t Matter,” which originally dropped last June.
The track, which includes a steamy verse from Zayn, is actually a leak that surfaced online. The former One Direction member went to Twitter to address the leak. “This was not a song I intended to put out, but due to unprofessionalism has been leaked by someone and my fans mean more to me than a stupid leak, so here it is free for you to enjoy, before my music drops,” he said.
Alsina responded to Zayn’s tweet with, “Zayn, I’m sending an abundance of love to you! You are my brother, I am yours. I don’t know how this happened but WAY TO MAKE LEMONS INTO LEMONADE. (& a great batch, might I add) 😂😭🙏🏽 we do great work together.”
Although the remix wasn’t meant to be released, it definitely serves as a nice treat to Alsina’s fans, especially with the delay of his third album. Last November, Alsina blasted his label for holding his new album “hostage.”
“I would love to put my album out but DEF JAM is holding it/me hostage because the system is not up & running until next year so they basically dont exist,” Alsina tweeted. “The label is just TRASH .. I will release free music soon but that has been the hold up. Tell Them to FREE ME 🗣& the Album🗣”
