Don’t put Jessie Reyez in the friend zone.
The Toronto native makes it clear that she isn’t here for men playing with her heart on her new track “Fuck Being Friends.” On the Tim Suby-produced record, Reyez calls out a guy for wanting sex without commitment.
“I got your heart in my hand and your dick in the other / You ain’t scared to fuck, but you scared of being lovers,” Reyez boldly sings. She continues, “My pussy beat better than my heart do? / Boy, please, you ain’t blind, you’re a smart dude / So why you pussy-footin’ on this part too?”
“Fuck Being Friends” is the follow-up to Reyez’ previously released tracks “Body Count (Remix)” featuring Normani and Kehlani, “Apple Juice” and “Figures, A Reprise” featuring Daniel Caesar. All those songs will appear on Reyez’ upcoming project, Being Human in Public, which is set to release on October 19 via FMLY/Island Records. The 27-year-old singer plans to release one song at a time leading up to the project’s release.
