A week after announcing the title of her sophomore album, Magdalene, FKA twigs has revealed an October 25 release date.

Titled after the biblical figure Mary Magdalene, the upcoming LP serves as the heir to her 2014 debut LP1. The new album is also noted as her first music project since 2015’s M3LL155X EP.

In a press statement, Twigs described how she overcame emotional and physical challenges to bring Magdalene to life. “I never thought heartbreak could be so all-encompassing,” she said. “I never thought that my body could stop working to the point that I couldn’t express myself physically in the ways that I have always loved and found so much solace.”

She continued, “The process of making this album has allowed me for the first time, and in the most real way, to find compassion when I have been at my most ungraceful, confused and fractured. I stopped judging myself and at that moment found hope in Magdalene. To her, I am forever grateful.”

Magdalene is a nine-track release that recorded with creative assistance from Nicolas Jaar, Oneohtrix Point Never, Cashmere Cat and Benny Blanco. The album will include the lead single “Cellophane,” in addition to her newly released follow-up track, “Holy Terrain” featuring Future. In a recent interview with i-D, she mentioned the lyrical direction asked the trap rapper to take on this record.

“I love sad Future. I love when he gets emo, when he expresses himself. It’s just so beautiful when he opens up,” she shared.

Along with an official release date, Twigs shared European dates to coincide with her supporting tour that starts in North America. The abroad trek begins on November 25 in London and wraps up on December 3 in Amsterdam.

Twigs also added extra dates in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Oakland, California. The previously announced dates in those two areas sold out immediately.
