Since the dawn of their existence as emerging stars, VanJess have been linked to the ‘90s presence of Zhané. A year after covering their classic “Groove Thang” for Amazon Music, the sister duo has uploaded an official rendition to streaming services.
With a slight touch-up of leaner grooves and rubberier ambient vibrations, VanJess deftly does justice to the song that has a kinetic energy to make one feel good at any time of day.
“Groove Thang” is another gem to keep fans with bated breath satisfied until plans of a future project surface. It follows their ride or die anthem “High & Dry,” as well as their fetching return single “Come Over.” VanJess recently shared a performance of the latter track.
This summer, VanJess was called on by Sinéad Harnett to appear on her single “Stickin’” with Masego.
