A new single announcement has been shared, and it’s ‘from the lips’ of Ms. Janet Jackson. The iconic singer is scheduled to release her new single “Made for Now” featuring Daddy Yankee this Friday (Aug. 17). The song’s accompanying video, directed by Dave Meyers, will be released as well.
Jackson revealed the single news on social media on Sunday (Aug. 12) following her headlining performance at the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival in San Francisco.
To celebrate the release of “Made for Now,” Jackson will debut the single on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. It will mark Jackson’s first performance on the late-night television in 14 years. She will also take over as host on Fallon.
Jackson and Yankee have been teasing fans about this collaboration since July after pictures of them shooting a music video in the streets of Brooklyn surfaced.
“Made for Now” will mark Jackson’s first official single release since 2016’s “Dammn Baby,” off her Unbreakable album.
In other news, Jackson will be crowned as a BMI Icon at the 2018 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards, scheduled to take place on August 30 in Atlanta.
