Gallant has released an alluring new song “TOOGOODTOBETRUE” with some assistance from Sufjan Stevens and Rebecca Sugar.
On the soothing track, produced by Sugar, the emerging crooner bears his soul and leaves himself naked to his audience by letting everyone know he and his lover aren’t infallible beings.
“Take a little piece of this and tell them where to start / Make a little circle right before you fall apart / I’ll lay down with but cautious just like the way you fold your arms,” Gallant sings.
Gallant enlisted the help of Steven Universe’s creator Rebecca Sugar and one of his musical idol’s Sufjan Stevens in order to create “the most special song I’ve ever written.”
“TOOGOODTOBETRUE” is Gallant’s fourth release of 2018. He dropped three previous joints: “Haha No One Can Hear You,” “Gentleman” and “Doesn’t Matter.” The latter track is currently No. 6 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs chart. All three tracks will appear on Gallant’s forthcoming album, This Does Not Fit, a follow-up to 2016’s Grammy-nominated work, Ology.
This fall, he will launch his Too Good To Be Tour with special guests Cautious Clay and Jamila Woods. The three artists will travel coast to coast, playing popular venues in major cities such as Atlanta, Philadelphia, Toronto, Chicago and Los Angeles.
