As Mario works tirelessly on his new album Dancing in the Shadows, he takes a moment to have fun on his new track titled “Girl Like You.”
On the quiet storm jam, which samples “Dangerous” by Meek Mill and Jeremih and interpolates Jon B’s “They Don’t Know,” the singer understands his position in the eyes of his fragile lover’s heart.
“‘Cause a girl like you, never should have to be alone / I really want to be the one / I know it’s hard when you’ve been hurt before,” he sings in his unmatch falsetto. “Loving a girl like you, can change the ways of a man like me / I really want to be the one / I promise from here it only gets better baby.”
“Girl Like You” is just a taste of what Mario’s been working on for his forthcoming project. He released the first official single “Drowning” and its visual in July.
