Mario has finally released his long-awaited fourth album, Dancing Shadows, via New Citizen LLC / EMPIRE.
For the 11-track set, the Baltimore native opts out of guest appearances and allows his listeners to savor in his breathtaking falsettos and sonically improved sound. The album includes previously released songs “Drowning” and the title track. He unleashed visuals for both tunes.
“[Dancing Shadows] was the process of me becoming a true artist,” shared Mario. “Peeling back layers of experiences through my career and personal life for the substance and aesthetic of this album. I wanted to take y’all on a ride of my personal taste in music and try to use my voice to help push the culture forward.”
Dancing Shadows is Mario’s first full-length album since 2009’s D.N.A.
On top of his new album, Mario has joined the cast of FOX’s Empire in a recurring role for season five. According to The Hollywood Reporter, his character, Devon, has been described as “an earnest, up-and-coming R&B singer who supports his ailing sister.”
