THEY. are on a roll this era. Just days after releasing their official “What I Know Now” video, the R&B duo (Drew Love and Dante Jones) have released a new Fireside track titled “Broken” featuring Jessie Reyez.
Reyez starts off the guitar-driven track by sharing her side of a tampered love story. “He gets tired, then he leaves / Then I cry, and I repeat,” she sings. “Better being friends to avoid the pain / I say I’m okay, I’m not.”
THEY. songster Drew Love comes in on the second verse, harping on the unvarying message of anguish. “I give you space, let you breathe / Flip it on me then it repeats,” he coos.
“Broken” is set to appear on their forthcoming Fireside EP, due on November 9 via Mind of a Genius / WBR. Jeremih, Ty Dolla $ign and others are slated to be featured on the project.
Reyez is currently on tour in support of her Being Human in Public project, which dropped last month. The North American trek will continue through the fall before wrapping up on December 3 in Reyez’ hometown of Toronto.
