Toni Braxton took a break from her As Long As I Live Tour and visited TV One’s Sister Circle Live, to briefly catch the public up on what’s been going on in her world.
Donning a sexy black getup, the legendary singer spoke with hosts Trina Braxton and Rashan Ali to discuss what it takes to maintain relevance in today’s industry. “I just have to remember and remind myself to believe in myself and that can be tough sometimes because the industry is changing but I always try to stay organic to who I am as a performer and as an artist,” she said. “I love performing, that’s my favorite thing to do, so whenever I think about that, I’m going to be ok.”
Braxton also revealed how she’s adjusted to opening up in the media. “I’m from the ’90s, we were taught that artists don’t advertise their life. But to be current, people need to feel like they’re peeping through your window a little bit. So, I’m trying to find the balance in all of it.”
Along with other topics, Braxton dished on her headlining tour with special guest SWV. The tour is in support of her Grammy-nominated album, Sex & Cigarettes. She is also nominated for Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song for “Long As I Live.”
