Khalid Waits By the Phone on ‘Don’t Pretend’ Featuring SAFE

With his sophomore album, Free Spirit, set to release on Friday, Khalid has released a new track titled “Don’t Pretend” featuring SAFE.

Over soft guitar riffs, Khalid applies his melodic vocals to the easy-listening groove and sings about the cold shoulder he’s getting from someone he once held close to his heart. Contrary to his dodging tune “My Bad,” he wants this ex to call his line. He’s waiting by the phone.

“Don’t Pretend” is the fifth track lifted from his highly-anticipated second album, which arrives this Friday, April 5 via RCA Records. He already shared “Self,” “My Bad,” “Talk” and “Better.”

On April 14 and 21, Khalid will play Coachella. He will also perform at the Beale Street Music Festival and Hangout Music Festival in May.

If those three huge events aren’t enough, Khalid is headlining his first-ever North American arena tour, with special guest Clairo. He will kick off the string of shows on June 20 in Phoenix and will end on August 17 in Miami. Tickets go on sale on his album release date.
