Love is complicated — just ask Lucky Daye. The emerging singer-songwriter has premiered his new song titled “Love You Too Much.”
Produced by DJ Camper, the seven-minute track finds Daye in a vulnerable space where he tries to move on from a recent breakup. He is faced with the harsh reality that his love was taken for granted.
“They say love is blind / That’s some real shit / Woke up from a lie to the truth / How you fuckin’ lie with a straight face? / How can you and I find a safe place? / We was in that zone / Now you making sudden moves,” he sings.
“Love You Too Much” originally appeared in an episode of BET’s new series Boomerang. It is also Daye’s first song to release since dropping his II EP in March. The project followed his debut EP, I, which held a spot on Rated R&B’s Best 25 R&B Albums of 2018 list.
Daye has been cooking up his debut album, Painted, which is slated to arrive later this year on Keep Cool/RCA Records. There is no official word on whether “Love You Too Much” will be placed on the album or another project.
