An old-fashioned romance isn’t the relationship standard anymore. Mahalia‘s appreciative new single “Grateful” rids those seemingly dated attitudes, suggesting she and her dude don’t need a title to define their love.
“If you could show me love somehow, we don’t need to have a label / You know I will love you down, I will be every kind of faithful,” Mahalia sings in a sedative tone.
Mahalia compliments the fine composition with an accompanying video. The alternative songster is seen prancing around a vintage-decorated apartment, playing in her curly hair and dancing freely for the Christopher Ranson-directed clip.
“Grateful” is the second piece of music from Mahalia this year. She released “Do Not Disturb” back in February.
Right now, Mahalia is the supporting act for the second run of Ella Mai’s Debut Tour. Following the U.S. trek with Mai, the 21-year-old singer/songwriter will play a couple of festivals, including Forbidden Fruit 2019 and the Strawberries and Cream Festival in June and the North Sea Jazz Festival in July.
