It’s not New Music Friday but Ari Lennox‘s debut album Shea Butter Baby is available now.
The Elite-executive produced masterpiece contains 12 modern soul songs, including her milky single “Whipped Cream,” her J. Cole-assisted title track, and most recent release “Up Late” with saxophone knacks from Masego.
Lennox also shines with her Dreamville homie J.I.D. on “Broke.”
“A lot of these songs I’ve been holding on to for a long time,” said Lennox to Billboard. “I just want the world to hear them. And then, finally, I can exhale.”
On May 12, Lennox is set to kick off her first-ever headlining tour, with special guests Baby Rose, Mikhala Jené, and Ron Gilmore. The first stop is in Phoenix.
