Just when you thought the school semester was over, Daniel Caesar returns and tacks on another assignment titled Case Study 01.
The follow-up to his Grammy-nominated debut, Freudian, features mostly songs that express the many contradictions of life. With his distinct and sonic vocals full of hurt and mystery, Caesar overwhelms listeners with highly related topics such as life and death on songs like “Superposition,” featuring John Mayer.
He touches on complex relationships with Brandy on “Love Again” and even the possibility of a sophomore jinx on “Restore the Feeling.”
Caesar is gearing up to play a number of festival dates this summer. He will make his first stop at the 52nd annual Festival d’ete de Québec on July 11. He is also tapped for H.E.R.’s self-curated Lights On Festival in September. Tickets for both shows and more are available on his official website.
