Brent Faiyaz wears the title of side ni**a proudly. Nearly a year after the release of his EP Lost, the contemporary songster surprises fans with the official video for “Trust.”
The Lonewolf-directed video finds Faiyaz roaming the streets of Brooklyn, New York with his gang as a way to get his mind off his situationship. During his city escapades, he spots his boo with her main thing in the subway station. He continues to play it cool throughout the video, partaking in his choice of vices. You’ll have to watch the entire video to see who his girl chooses as her official love interest.
Speaking to Billboard last year in a track-by-track review for his Lost EP, Faiyaz called “Trust” an outlet for his wild and awkward interactions with individuals.
“Everyone is everywhere and knows everybody,” he told Billboard. “Strangers having opinions about me is one of the wildest things I’ve had to come to terms with. Now I just really don’t give a fuck.”
