The love for Brandy on urban adult contemporary radio this era is unbelievable. A month after releasing her breathtaking duet “Love Again” featuring Daniel Caesar, it becomes a top 10 victory for the vocal treasure on this airplay format.
The mesmerizing single collects more than six million audience impressions at 85 monitored urban AC stations, replacing India.Arie’s “Steady Love,” which ruled the No. 10 position the previous week.
This chart highlight for Brandy is one for the books. It marks her first appearance on this portion of the chart in 20 years. She last claimed a top 10 milestone on urban AC radio for Never Say Never‘s “Almost Doesn’t Count” in 1999. Back in 2012, she neared the top 10 achievement with Monica for “It All Belongs to Me.”
If “Love Again” continues to grow in airplay and spins, it could turn into her ninth top 10 hit on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart in the next tracking week.
Brandy, who is set to drop her seventh album later this year, has been announced as this year’s BMI President’s Award honoree. She will be presented with the award at the ceremony on August 29 in Atlanta at the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center.
