Jorja Smith just dropped a new summer jam titled “Be Honest” featuring Burna Boy — and it’s one you’ll be bursting out of the speakers.
The Grammy-nominated artist pairs her reggae-tinged vocal cadences with a trendy Caribbean backdrop to send a warning shot to a suitor who insists he’s ready to make their affair official. Even though Smith realizes her “thick thighs” and “little waist” are hard to resist, she urges him to reconsider his decision before she responds with her final answer.
Burna Boy feels there is no need to worry. The dancehall king just asks for his girl to not put him “under a spell.”
Smith pitches her new song “Be Honest” to fans with a corresponding video. The scorching Amber Grace Johnson-directed visual finds Smith serving natural beauty and talent in various adventurous settings. Meanwhile, Burna chills underside down on his hotel bed.
“Be Honest” is the mark of a new era for Smith. It’s the first original material since her 2018 debut Lost & Found. The album appeared at No. 12 on Rated R&B’s top 25 R&B albums of 2018.
Smith will be taking the stage at JAY-Z’s Made in America Festival on Labor Day weekend (August 31 and September 1).
