In less than a week, Tori Kelly will be releasing her new album Inspired by True Events. She builds on the anticipation by dropping another track titled “2 Places.”
This guitar-tinged track has a lyrical substance that reaches deep in your soul. Kelly evokes vulnerably about being disturbed by split emotions that are sometimes hard to contain.
“These days I keep finding myself caught in between / Am I awake or am I walking in my sleep / Just never know what I’ll be feeling today / Happy or sad, yeah it could go either way,” Kelly vocalizes on the opening verse.
“2 Places” follows the same soul-searching vein of her previously released singles “Sorry Would Go a Long Way” and “Change Your Mind.”
“I’m just kind of opening up about the last couple years [and] some of the things that have gone down in my personal life,” Kelly shared to Entertainment Tonight’s Lauren Zima about her Inspired by True Events. “It’s just really, really personal songs. I poured my whole heart into it and I’m excited for people to hear.”
