It’s been a while since we’ve heard new music from June’s Diary but the R&B group returns with not one, but two new songs.
Packaged as Take Your Time, the double-sided single features two tracks “Stuntin” and “I Ain’t With It.”
“Stuntin” is a trippy record that hears the quintet exuding confidence. “Bossin’, flossin’ / Making waves like ocean / Water, dripping / All my diamonds dripping,” they sing on the hook.
On “I Ain’t With It,” they sing about not wanting to be tied down to one particular person. “Say you’re trying to wife me / I ain’t with it, sorry / Feening for me nightly / I ain’t with it, sorry,” they sing with a Migos-influenced flow.
June’s Diary’s two new tracks are their first songs to release since their 2018 EP, All of Us.
“It’s been over a year since we released new music and we’re excited to finally be at a place where we can share what we’ve been working on with our loyal and patient fans,” said June’s Diary in a joint statement.
One of the challenges the group has faced over the years is the lack of consistency with their music releases. They are fully aware of this and have an optimistic vision for their future.
“Working as independent artists is no easy feat and comes with an array of obstacles — especially as a group that is based across the country,” they said.
They continued, “We have a slew of new music ready to drop in the coming months and are so happy to share that there will be no more long gaps between releases.”
In other news, Kristal recently lost her home in a fire. The group will be donating a portion of proceeds from streams and sales to Kristal. If you would like to contribute, a GoFundMe page has been created to collect donations.
