Hot on the heels of his live album recording at the 2019 Essence Festival, PJ Morton has released the music video for “Say So” featuring JoJo.
An overcast of emotions follow both stars in their separate frames as they each get ready to embark on a journey apart. Morton, who is packed and ready to leave, sits in a classic car and contemplates on making one final stop to JoJo’s home before he skips town. You’ll have to watch the video below to see what he decides.
“Say So” is the lead single from Morton’s forthcoming album, which is due later this summer. The new LP is unrelated to the masterpiece he curated in New Orleans at the 25th anniversary event with BJ the Chicago Kid, Luke James, The Hamiltones, Pell, Mia X, and his dad.
There is no word if his genius cover of The Gap Band’s “Yearning for Your Love” will appear on his untitled summer release.
The recent Grammy winner, who is working on two gospel projects with Tyscot Music & Entertainment, is set to perform at this year’s Outside Lands Festival in August. Morton joins Childish Gambino, Anderson .Paak, Leon Bridges, Ella Mai, Alina Baraz, and more for the 12th edition of the concert.
