After getting “2 Real” last November, Parisalexa returns with her new single titled “Chocolate.”
The empowering anthem celebrates melanin to the fullest.
“I wrote this song based on how I feel when I look in the mirror,” Parisalexa explained in a statement. “I love my blackness and all the richness of culture tied to my brown skin and it deserves to be sung about.”
She continued, “It took a long time for me to be confident in all that I am, so this is a toast to all my sisters and brothers who have arrived at the same peak. No matter where we go in life, we came from the motherland.”
“Chocolate” is the second single from Parisalexa’s upcoming project, 2 Real, which is set to arrive in April.
In other news, Parisalexa will support her R&B colleague Xavier Omar on his Hot Javi Tour, beginning on January 24.
